Re: Mid-year reports:

Some schools are not able to send mid-year reports by the Feb. 15th deadline. We understand that. In such a case, we request the school send the reports and senior year transcript as soon as it becomes available, and the guidance counselor include a note stating the reason for the delay.

Hello.

I have applied regular decision, and really hope I can be apart of JHU 2012!

I dropped down my AP calculus class in the first quarter of school from BC to AB. On my Mid Year Report/1st semester report card it will not show any calculus grade (or indicate any course taken) for first quarter even though I did do 10 weeks worth of BC calc but, for second quarter my grade for AB calculus will be present. Do I need to send admissions an explanation for why calculus isn't on the first quarter part of my report card? I ask because I'm planning on majoring in engineering and surely how I do in my AP chemistry and AP calculus class will be important in the admission process.

Thanks so much,
Imbi Salasoo

Any changes to your senior schedule, ANY CHANGES, that are not noted on one's transcript needed to be explained in an update letter to one's application. If this is just a change then the letter can be submitted by the student. If there is an error on one's transcript, then the letter must be submitted by the guidance counselor.

We will not accept such explanation letters via email, but you can fax it to 410-516-6025. Please make sure that all updates include the applicant's full name, birth date, and school (social security number is helpful but optional).
