I didn't notice that I entered the wrong high school date of entry on my common application until after I submitted it. I mistakenly put 2003 instead of 2004. Is this going to affect my application in any way?

If you have made a mistake on a submitted application (or you want to add something) you have two options:

(1) Fax
OR
(2) Mail

We are unable to process application updates or error corrections received through email.

To provide an update to a previously submitted application you must compose a letter of update and either fax it to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (410-516-6025) or mail it to:

Application Coordinator
Office of Undergraduate Admissions
Johns Hopkins University
Mason Hall
3400 N. Charles St.
Baltimore, MD 21218

Please make sure that all updates include the applicant's full name, birth date, and school (social security number is helpful but optional).

Hello,
I could not use the print/preview function on the online Common Application due to a technical problem. I decided not to wait further in case the website jams if I send my application at the last minute, so I sent it without using the print/preview function. Unfortunately, I am able to use this function now and I realized that my personal essay was not properly uploaded. I will be mailing this essay to Hopkins. Is that okay and will it affect my chances of admissions?

Thanks! And sorry for the trouble.

Yes it is okay, and it will not impact your chances for admission.

Is it necessary to send the email or regular mail notification of an address change if you've changed it on ISIS?

ISIS is a financial aid system that is separate from the admissions database. So yes, you need to send a notification of an address change to the admissions office.

Ok, thank you. What would be the best way then? Is there an email option or does it need to be sent via regular ground mail? Also, what needs to be included in the message?

Changes to contact information can be sent to apphelp@jhu.edu. You need to include your full name, birth date, and school name. (SS# is optional but helpful). Also include your old address as well as your new address.

I also made a mistake; I forgot to put down that I'm participating in the school's science fair.  It's not yet been judged, so I don't even know if I placed or not, so is it worth it to update my application?

The judging is on the 27th (I think), so if I hypothetically do win something, would it be worth it to add that?  Would that be too late?

I'm not interested in a sciences major, so I'm not sure if science fair is even relevant at all...

It is your choice whether you want to add that to your application file ... we can not advise you on what to add and what not to add. If you feel it is important then you need to submit the update no later than February 1st.

Any changes to one's curriculum MUST BE REPORTED. You have until March 15 to add updates to your application file. Therefore, you need to submit your update by fax by the end of the week - 410-516-6025.

Hello,

I just have one short question.

Is it possible for someone to tell me if certain Documents are in my file?

Eg. Harvard Summer School transcript, or Recommendation from my Harvard Summer School Proctor?

Thanks for all your help.

We unfortunately do not have the resources to check whether specific items were included in an applicant's file. If the materials were sent to Hopkins there is a 99% chance they are filed in the correct applicant's folder.
