Early Admission Programs

Hello,

I am currently a freshman in high school but i have made the decision to graduate high school a year early, instead of four years it's gonna be three years. I have made this decision because i plan on becoming a neurosurgeon, which means many years of school so to make myself a year younger wouldn't hurt. In order to do this i am going to do summer school this summer and at the beginning of this fall i'm going to be a junior.
I just wanted to know if this decision will hurt me when I apply to Johns Hopkins next yr, because there will only be 3 years on my high school transcript as opposed to the average 4?

Though not encouraged, Johns Hopkins will consider applications from students who have accelerated their high school preparation, have achieved exceptionally strong academic records, and feel ready to undertake full-time university studies before completing high school. A high school diploma is not required for such early admission.

Do note that we are unable to comment on student’s chances for admission nor provide specific details on what it takes to be admitted. To be considered a competitive applicant, a student expediting their high school career still needs to meet the curriculum expectations for a traditional high school program.
