Hey, I'm interested in attending JHU for college. I plan on majoring in writing seminars and business and thats where my problem starts. The Krieger School is in my hometown, but the Johns Hopkins School of Business, Carey, is located in Washington. If I am accepted into JHU how can I take classes at both schools? Will I have to somehow commute back and forth form Baltimore and Washington or are there online options?
It is important first to note the distinction between undergraduate schools connected to Johns Hopkins University. The Homewood campus (in Baltimore, MD) of Johns Hopkins University is home to the two primary, traditional undergraduate schools: the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and the Whiting School of Engineering. A complete list of undergraduate programs of study offered at these two schools can be found here:
http://apply.jhu.edu/academics/majors.html.
The only business-related major offered at the Homewood Campus is a major in Economics (
http://www.econ.jhu.edu/undergraduate/ ). There are also minors in related to Business offered through the JHU Center for Leadership Education (
http://web.jhu.edu/leadership ), including a minor in Entrepreneurship and Management (
http://eng.jhu.edu/wse/cle/page/em_minor ).
The Carey School of Business school is a completely separate institution and not part of the Homewood Undergraduate campus. The Carey School offers a number of non-traditional, primarily adult-oriented undergraduate programs. Students graduating high school do not tend to apply for programs of study through the Carey School. For more information about the Carey School, please contact them directly at:
