So, everyone has their favorite place on campus. What about your favorite dorm? Mine's the AMRs because I live there and have gotten to met a lot of people from there.

The AMR's!

1. The buildings are the coolest looking
2. I've heard lots of people compare how confusing AMR I is to Hogwarts
3. On the Hogwarts theme, the AMR's are divided up into houses!
4. Lots of people leave their door open, so you get to meet people
5. You hardly ever have to wait for a shower. In a whole year, I had to wait once for a shower, and I waited about a minute.
6. They have pretty courtyards
7. The turnstiles are better than the ones in the other buildings, since they don't attack you (like McCoy, Wolman, and Commons)
8. I met my three best friend in the AMR's!
9. There's always someone to go to for homework help, since people are friendly and have their doors open
10. They're close to the FFC, gym, and library

and I'm sure we could keep going...do other AMR's people have things to add?

AMR 2 also has  a common room with a pool table, ping pong table, air hockey, fooseball, couches and a big screen tv, and AMR 1 has a computer lab in the basement in addition to the TV room and multi purpose room, thereby making the AMRs even better!

AMRS! I live in a single in AMR 1 and I love it! The dorms are social- and Miranda definitely highlighted one of the best parts- they are divided into houses! We have Royce for Ravenclaw, Gildersleeve for Gryffindor, and Sylvester for Slytherin, and...I can't think of one for Hufflepuff, but they're great! Make sure you consider them when picking dorms!

i'd have to go for homewood for the upperclassmen. the rooms are hugeeeeeee and it was nice and quiet and slightly secluded which I liked. If I wanted to see more people or more noise I walked to Charles COmmons to see my friends and all the other hoopla :) not sure about freshman dorms yet bc I haven't really been in the AMRs .

For freshman... Wolman Hall!

1.) Suite style living (you an your roommate share a bathroom and a kitchenette with another set of roommates)
2.) An awesome common room
3.) Floor bonding!
4.) Spacious rooms (except mine...)
5.) Close to Charles Street Market / Einsteins / All of the off campus eateries
6.) Our own gym!
7.) Amazingness

McCoy and Wolman are definitely my favorite, the rooms are a lot bigger than the rooms in other dorms, you have a kitchenette, your own bathroom, you're right across the street from CharMar and you're even closer to all the awesome food places on St. Paul!

This is an easy one. Charles Commons is clearly the best. There is a dining hall IN THE BUILDING, which was very useful during SnOMG 2010 where even walking down the street was an epic excursion. Also, the building was erected in 2007 so it's pretty darn new. It basically feels like living in a hotel (except without the pool). The building even has its own programming series called Charles Commons Connections which has faculty dinners, poker tournaments, and viewings for major sporting events. Definitely a great residential experience.

I'm with Keith on this one. What's better than Charles Commons? It's an upgrade from most of the freshman dorms, and you have more independence with the apartment style living (for example, you can cook more since there's a kitchenette). Nolan's on 33rd (a dining hall) is within the building, as well as an excellent exercise facility. There are ping pong tables, a huge common kitchen for baking, and conference rooms and ballrooms for meetings. The laundry facility is also within the building, and it has way more machines than the AMR's did.

Overall, I'm a major fan of Commons!

I have to give my vote to Charles Commons -- it's nicer than most apartments you'd ever find nearby!  Everyone gets their own room and you have tons of storage space in the suite.  It's a nice in-between step (in between freshman dorms and your own apartment) -- you get used to cleaning your own bathroom, keeping bigger common areas clean with suitemates, etc.

And as others have mentioned, the building has a lot of nice common areas shared among all residents, too!

Wolman most definitely! Although my options are a little bit limited because this is the only dorm I have ever lived in!

I agree with everything that Clint said about Wolman. I've also met my best friend Amanda on our floor on Wolman - and Clint!!

I actually would have to say AMR 2 eventhough I live in Wolman. I'm mostly in AMR 2 all the time because almost all of my friends live there. Why? AMR 1 and 2 are right next to the FFC which is really convenient. It is also close to the Rec Center. Also, I like how social the AMRs are - Wolman is too, but in the AMRs, it's much easier to get around since they're not suite-style and the "houses" aren't divided by elevators, doors, etc. Wolman, however, is a lot nicer and have common rooms on each floor. It's also close to many restaurants and shops, so that's def a plus.

I agree with Becca and Keith on this one - I love Charles Commons.  It has a dining hall, a workout room, and plenty of study space in the lobby and on every hall.  Pretty much everything you need is in this building!

I love Charles Commons as well. It's the newest dorm on campus and it basically has EVERYTHING.

I think I'm biased, but I love the AMRs. I miss AMR II a lot actually, mainly because of how close I was to everyone. Plus, the bathrooms were always cleaned for us, which was a plus. I hate cleaning the bathroom.
