I love Washington DC. It's actually a really cheap trip if you plan it out right and there are so many things to see.
But I love the Bookthing and the farmers' market too! :D The farmers' market has the best empanadas ever.

This may sound lame, but some great places to check out are my friends' dorms/apartments :) If I come up with something else I'll add.

Farmer's Market is pretty cool too, I got a ton of of apples for 3 bux once, and good muffins yumyum

Towson is also a really great option, and its also easy to get to. They have a hugeee 3 story mall, and a movie theater, and a bunch of food places. When I was here this summer we went there almost every weekend.

CHECK OUT THE INNER HARBOR.  Specifically the aquarium!  It's beautiful inside and incredibly interesting.  It's a must-visit.  Read my blog about my trip to the aquarium! http://blogs.hopkins-interactive.com/2014/2010/10/lobsters-fish-dragons-the-inner-harbor/

I LOVE the Inner Harbor. It's especially so beautiful at nighttime. They have awesome food there (check out Edo's - amazing sushi!) and there's a lot to do there. I especially like the movie theater there - it's so nice. There are also several hotels there too - definitely suggest it to parents/relatives/friends to stay there when visiting!

I also love to go to Towson - you can take the Collegetown Shuttle (free!) and it's like 10 minutes away. There's a huge mall nearby and the movies are right there too.

I love the Harbor East area for all sorts of weekend activities -- during the day, there are some great boutiques (and WHOLE FOODS!) and then for evening entertainment, there's a great movie theater and some awesome restaurants.  It's also walking distance from Little Italy (Vaccaro's pastry shop is a great way to end an evening out) and Fells Point (more cute boutiques and a fun nightlife for those of age).

On campus, there's usually a bunch of different things going on. Getting off campus on the weekends when there's time (and when someone with a car is willing to drive) is always fun-- I'm with Mandy on Harbor East. Also Federal Hill ("Fed Hill") has some great restaurants that are always crowded!

My favorite weekend hangout is definitely Pete's Grille. It's within walking distance from campus {just a few blocks east} and has the BEST food, the BEST deals... plus, it always makes me feel like a real Baltimore citizen, which is really nice. It isn't ever hard to recruit friends to walk over early in the morning on Saturday or Sunday for a great, filling breakfast!

I absolutely love Fell's Point. There's a lot of restaurants and shops to check out, and it's super close to the Inner Harbor so you could visit both places in one day if you wanted.

I'm with Joe on this one, I really like Towson.  They have a movie theater, a mall, a Trader Joe's, a Starbucks, and a good place to get Vietnamese food all within like two blocks of each other.

Wow, it looks like everyone has beaten me to mentioning my favorite places! Harbor East and Fell's Point are definitely my favorite Baltimore Burrows, but another worth mentioning is Hampden. It's just north of campus (within walking distance) and has a quaint, small town feeling. Angelo's has the largest slice of pizza in Baltimore and is pretty cheap, too. There are lots of little shops, restaurants, and cafes, too.. definitely worth checking out!

I go to Towson a lot. It's just an easy stop if you just wanna have a quick break from study... i mean, it's just a mall, nothing fancy, but a nice place to hang if you don't feel like having an adventure but still want to have a break.

And some of the best cannoli in the city. Not an official "best of" award or anything, but I'm sure the rest of Baltimore wouldn't disagree.

Trying out different Italian restaurants in Little Italy is one of my weekend favorites... when choosing a restaurant in that area, it's hard to go wrong!

Although I do LOVE the convenience of going to D.C. (I went TWICE last weekend), I also must say that NYC isn't impossible to fit in on the weekend. With the Bolt Bus now offering a direct route from Baltimore to NYC, it's convenient and cheap. Plus there's internet on the bus, so you can get some work done too. Plus with so many students being from the nearby area, it's pretty easy to find a friend to follow home with to make lodging easy.

Additionally, visiting the OUTDOORS is fairly easy to do in Baltimore. I just went hiking today. Outdoor Pursuits does a number of trips for those that do not have a car readily acceptable. It's definitely nice to get some outdoors and appreciate beautiful Maryland.
