So with the weather getting better, and students getting Spring Fever, I wanted to start a thread on the best spots to relax on campus and enjoy yourself with your friends. Obviously, my favorite is the Beach, but do you guys recommend anywhere else?

The sculpture garden is one of my favorite spots, especially because it has grass and benches to lounge on and it is not as crowded as the Beach can get on especially beautiful days. I also love grabbing a bite to eat and sitting at the tables outside Barnes and Noble, the library or Levering - just to enjoy the sunlight.

I have to add my vote for the Beach.  There is nothing better than warm afternoons/evenings spent with friends on a big blanket on the beach.

Though this isn't exactly a "spot," I also love the walk between my apartment and the lacrosse field.  It's even better after a big brunch at One World Cafe, just across the street from Homewood Field.

I really like the gazebo in the Bloomberg sculpture garden! Even when it's raining, it's a comfy and beautiful place to spend time, even if it's raining!

While of course the Beach is the Best...I discovered a spot just on the other side of the stairs on the North side of the Beach. It's right between the stairs and the gazeebo behind the AMR I. Got some good yoga/nap time in today.

My favorite place is the outside top floor of the Mattin Center Area. I hate crowded places, so I usually don't do Beach.. It also has really good shades and very peaceful..

My favorite place to relax is definitely the tables outside Cafe Q on the Upper Quad, or just the Upper Quad in general, most people go to the beach so its a lot quieter there and there's more places to choose from!

The common room in Olin Hall is a great place to relax. It's aloof from campus so it's very quiet, and there is almost always food for an event there!

The patio by the library was a favorite of mine before the construction of the Brody Learning Commons took over.

Now it's probably the Gilman Atrium.

When it's sunny out, I'm game to chill on any of the quads on campus, but I would have to say my favorites are The Beach and Keyser Quad outside of Gilman Hall.

My favorite spot on/near campus is the sculpture garden behind NEB and next to the BMA.  Nothing quite beats grabbing coffee and having a quiet moment there.

The outdoor tables in front of the quad side of the library are a nice place to eat, lounge, meet up with friends. I think they receive the perfect amount of sunlight!
Other than that, I like the tables in front of Levering. They're great for hanging out and people watching!

Like many of the answers before me have mentioned, the Beach is the BEST place to hang out with friends, take a cat nap, and do some leisurely reading or football-throwing in between classes. But I also love walking down the path to University Parkway that leads to the Rec Center - it's lined with trees that smell amazing in the spring and it tends to calm me down a little. Sitting outside of Nolans in Charles Commons when it's nice out can be great too, especially during the evening as the sun is setting - there's usually a light breeze and it's nice to look out over St. Paul Street while unwinding from your day.

I'm also known to spend hours in Levering Food Court eating lunch with my friends. There's something about being surrounded by friends and other chatting, happy people that calms me down!

I really like the common rooms in our dorm.  I live in Charles Commons, and I'm pretty sure there are two common rooms on each floor.  Both rooms have tables that are good for group studying, and one of the rooms also has couches and a TV.

I agree with Cate. The sculpture garden which is technically part of BMA is my favorite place to mentally take a break. I'm actually just leaving campus now enjoy the weather by picnicking in the Sherwood Gardens - the famous tulip garden of Baltimore which is in walkable distance from campus. http://www.guilfordnews.com/sherwood/

I love hanging out on the Beach on a nice summer day, when it's not too hot or humid that is! Otherwise, I love sitting on a balcony over-looking somewhere (or even my apartments fire escape) and doing some people-watching. Sometimes on weekends it's fun to scream at drunk people. Hahaha.

my friends' off campus apartments are wonderful when i need to get away from the dorms.

the reading rooms at the bloomberg school of public health are really nice...i wouldn't call it relaxing but they are quiet and mature feeling and i prefer it over anywhere on campus to study :)

I like to sit by the stream in Wyman park. It is really secluded and the sound of rushing water is really enjoyable. It is also probably one of the best outdoor study spots on campus besides the BMA sculpture garden.

I love hanging out on the beach in the dead of summer when campus is near empty.  It's so surreal since it is usually packed!
