Forums Guidelines

Thank you for visiting the Hopkins Forums and participating in our message board community. In advance, please review our Forums Guidelines.

Moderation:
Administrators may edit or delete posts that do not adhere to our Forum guidelines. Additionally, posts may be moved to make them more accessible to all forum users and fit into the structure of these message boards.

Courtesy / Respect:
All users of the Hopkins Forums are expected to be respectful of others when posting. Decorum is expected at all times. Personal attacks, insults, and inflammatory speech will not be tolerated. Additionally, inappropriate and offensive language is prohibited.

Requesting Chance of Admissions Assessments:
Questions regarding an individual’s chance for admission, while important, cannot be answered here. Admission to Johns Hopkins University is a complex process, and there are no set formulas to “getting in.” The Admissions Committee employs a holistic approach to application review, meaning that there is no way to determine an applicant’s chances for admission outside of a full review of the application. Additionally, please be aware that the Admissions counselors and current students on these forums will not provide individual advice to potential applicants, or reveal personal information that they included on their applications. Any posts related to such content will be removed by administrators.

Privacy:
All visitors to the site can read discussion threads and posts; however, a user account is required to post new questions or comments. Anonymous or unregistered posts are not supported. When posting, do not provide personal information such as your name, phone number, email address, social security number, or any other identifying information. Please report any incident of harassment to the board administrators.

SPAM / Commercial Posts:
Do not include any commercial or SPAM messages in your posts or user profile. Links to other websites, products, or services will be removed. Promotional signatures or links are not allowed.

Membership Removal:
The Hopkins Forums are established as a community in which current Johns Hopkins students and members of the Admissions staff can assist prospective students with questions and alleviate and concerns. Members who violate these guidelines or conduct themselves in an inappropriate manner will be removed from the Hopkins Forums and lose the right to post new questions or comments.
